Our History

We are pleased to share with you a new milestone in the history of Frontier Gazebos, Inc.

Frontier Gazebos has been building high-end gazebos of top quality since 1995. Three owners that are Amish and Mennonite formed a company and started to manufacture gazebos.

The recent name change to Frontier Gazebos was instigated by new marketing initiatives that will further promote the high quality gazebos that Frontier manufactures. Frontier has developed and is now offering the finest cedar log gazebos that can be found anywhere. Frontier’s cedar log gazebos are stylish, long lasting and attractive in appearance. Frontier is pleased to offer the finest quality, handcrafted cedar log gazebos in the country. Along with this new log gazebo line, Frontier continues to promote the other premium gazebos that are constructed from high quality vinyl, redwood cedar and treated pine.

Frontier continues to evaluate outdoor living products for elegance and durability, unique beauty as well as maintainability. At Frontier Gazebos we offer the best quality/price value built by Amish/Mennonite owners.

Today a typical yard contains a deck, patio, outdoor fireplace or fire pit, and a grill along with outdoor structures like gazebos. Frontier has built the finest gazebos you will ever find for municipal parks, homes, and businesses in the world. We encourage you to learn more about our products by continuing to browse our website or by visiting our factory in the heart of Amish country in Millersburg, OH.

About the Owners

Dan Steiner, Paul Swartzentruber, and Harley Hochstetler brought together more then the talents of a farmer (Paul), a builder (Harley) and a sales/businessman (Dan). Their partnership was created out of a desire to build Gazebos that would become centerpieces of family good times and precious moments.

Dan Steiner

One of 10 children, Dan's interest in sales and business started on the family farm where he learned the importance of quality and fairness from his parents. As a young boy he listened carefully as salesmen explained their wares to his parents. He was keenly aware of his parent's placement of quality at the top of their list of priorities.

Dan started a business early, selling agricultural products to the farming industry.  He learned that a high quality product is its own best sales representative.

Harley Hochstetler

Harley grew up in an Amish family and was one of eight children. Recognizing the value of teamwork, he was fascinated by the process of fitting together the wood, nails, aluminum, vinyl and other materials to build a structure, an enclosure, an environment. He was an early adviser for Dan and the relationship grew into a strong partnership.

Harley's background in the construction of churches, restaurants and elite buildings gives Frontier a solid foundation of experience. He recognized early, that by building in the all-important ingredient of quality, he could create a finished product of solid, enduring value to be enjoyed by generations.

Paul Swartzentruber

Paul learned the discipline of growing up with 13 siblings in an Old Order Amish family. He developed the attributes of self-discipline and teamwork into a talent for training horses. And he learned the value of patience.

His years of farm work: hand milking, walk-behind plowing, putting up loose hay, were a solid foundation upon which he built an expertise in manufacturing and production. Over the years a various number of Paul's brothers and relatives have contributed to the Frontier team.

Together this team approaches each gazebo as an opportunity. Not just an opportunity to build it solidly, efficiently and well, but to build it as a focal point for generations of memories.
